"The Light Princess" by George MacDonald is a Scottish fairy tale published in 1864. A spiteful aunt curses a newborn princess to have no gravity, leaving her physically weightless and unable to take anything seriously. The princess floats through life without tears or grounding until she discovers joy in swimming and encounters a devoted prince. When a vengeful plot threatens to drain the lake she loves, only an ultimate sacrifice can break
her curse and bring her down to earth—both literally and emotionally. (This is an automatically generated summary.)
