"The Divine Comedy by Dante, Illustrated, Purgatory, Volume 3" by Dante Alighieri is a narrative poem begun around 1308 and completed around 1321. This second cantica follows Dante's journey through Purgatory, guided by the Roman poet Virgil. Here souls undergo purification for the seven deadly sins—lust, gluttony, greed, sloth, wrath, envy, and pride—as they ascend Mount Purgatory toward redemption. The journey represents the penitent Christian life, moving from sin's recognition toward divine
grace and the Garden of Eden. (This is an automatically generated summary.)
